Picture this scene, I am sure all of us can, you are trying to solve a difficult problem, perhaps you are writing code and have been beating your head against the wall for hours, but then you notice something you failed to see before. All of the sudden the lights come on and it all makes sense. Now you see clearly. You have visibility. For me the umbrella project represents a series of iterations of light to darkness, blindness to sight, invisibility to visibility. My strategy and first order of business was to create that initial layer of visibility. As demonstrated this morning, my first goal and milestone has been achieved. There is communication between the database, back end, front end and smtp server. Hopefully this visibility is the first step on the path to success. I believe the next step will be to build out the database and test additional API calls. From there I will most likely begin working on querying the database and assembling the data into a useful format to send. Finally, I will work on the front-end login and admin pages. Once again, I am kind of in the dark on how exactly I will accomplish all of this, but I suspect the darkness will fade a little each day and the light will become visible once again.
