Kaleidoscope Vision

Dear Billy,

The purpose of this letter is to effectively open your eyes and help you to see what I see from the outside looking in. It often happens and is in fact normal for people to have a distorted view of themselves. It is almost as if they are looking through a kaleidoscope and cannot see what is visible to others all around them. They see all their own faults and weaknesses but have a hard time seeing the good things. What they know they know in their head because someone told them, but they almost never fully believe it in their hearts.

You seem to accept that you are a hard worker, do not give up easily and love to solve problems, but you still tend to discount other things and not give yourself enough credit. You often view yourself as the weakest link and feel obligated to prove yourself over and over again, even in arenas where you have nothing left to prove. Please realize that you don't always have to prove yourself, just keep working hard and putting in the effort. Keep doing the things you always do and you will figure it out. Keep going down the road and you will eventually get to where you want to be. Stay strong and keep believing.
